Bio

Steven R. Eckert (born in Baton Rouge, LA in 1988) earned his M.F.A. in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, Georgia in the spring of 2018.   He received a B.F.A. in painting and drawing from the Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA in 2012.  His work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions in both Baton Rouge and Savannah.  He completed a study abroad program with L.S.U. Art in Ireland in the summer of 2011.  He displayed work in the Louisiana State Museum for the show Art Melt 2013.  Currently, Eckert lives in Los Alamos, New Mexico where he constructs paintings using the principles of figurative deconstruction exploring the unconscious, automatism, and anxiety.
